Oh it’s been an exciting time! Getting together with the guys at Debla to brew my new Dark Ale, called Dulcinea (I love how that just trips off my tongue: Dulcinea Dark Ale!) took a while, as we’re all busy, busy, busy and then they didn’t have my malt and then there was a sudden trip anyway, I was thrilled to drive up to Utrera and get down and brew, por fin! Hopefully, the Dulcinea Dark Ale will be all bottled up by early July. I can’t wait!

Wow! A fellow ale enthusiast out here! I was the owner of a micro in the Uk until recently – and am moving out here later in the year. Look forward to trying your beer and hopefully checking out the brew house one day over a jar or two! ( don panic – I’m well and truly retired!!!)

      Hi Dave,

Lovely to hear from you! What kind of brews do you do? Give us a shout when you come out here!
      Cheers,

Hey Liz, sorry for the delay! Our brews are all traditional english real ales, top fermented, using pale malt (+ adjuncts) whole hops and our own yeast strain. We ‘experiment’ quite a bit with other ingredients such as local fruits (from the farm where the Brewery is located) with strengths ranging from 2-6.5% ! Mostly cask, but the bottling side is expanding at the moment. Its an 18BBL plant producing between 4000 – 6000 Ltrs per week.
I’ve been out of it for a few years now – but would be delighted to get in touch when we move over (29th September!) and maybe join you on a brew day – free labour!

I started with Papazian’s book (New Complete Joy . . . ) and a Brewers’ Best kit. However, any of the full-sized kits are good. Just stay away from Mr Beer, the Beer Machine, and the other “toy” kits. You can often get good precis on eBay. Also, find the nearest home-brew shop. Hubby will be spending a lot of time there and can get his best advice there, too.

I think you can probably get some second hand ones by now from brewing enthusiasts who have either moved up or given up…
